SHED STUDIES IN PLASTER AND CLOTH, 2016

Sculptural investigations of the body- the beauty, suffering and the process of letting go. These works were created as I prepared for the Out of Nothing show at Klowden Mann and follow the process of tending to my father during an illness which concluded in his passing.

This collection of work explores the fragile nature of plaster and cheesecloth. Shed is a study of the inevitable nature of form to crumble, peal and sink away. It is a study of that which falls from the body yet sustains itself as body even if only as remnant.  This work is a further expression of the Body Poem series and the exploration of form in transit.
